Graceland’s Chocolate Cake Happyness

I have been mostly surfing and not really concentrating on what I’ve been eating these past few weeks, so I’ve been very very remiss in not posting anything here. My bad.

So here I give you, one of the best things in Daet besides the surf in Bagasbas, GRACELAND’S CHOCOLATE CAKE.


For 40 pesos, it’s a godsend to me!!! 🙂

It’s covered in chocolate, topped with a dollop of cream, sprinkled with candy bits. The cake is chocolate (duh) moist, and not too sweet. The filling’s more chocolate ganache! It’s perfect after a filling meal of Bicol staples and a good emotional crutch when all you really want to do is bash a surfer’s head with a board for being a stupid idiot, but I digress, that belongs in a different blog! haha!

Graceland’s also a good place to eat for the usual bicol fare— bicol express, etc. But I go back for this cake. 🙂

To find graceland: just ride a tricycle in Daet and say Graceland sa bayan. haha! 🙂 I found it after buying meds in Mercury Drug, haha! 🙂 It’s on the same street. I’m sorry for not being too specific. hang loose!

Sidenote: Don’t get me wrong, Daet and Bagasbas have other culinary eats, more on that, when I finally get the pictures and my writing hat finally on or if there is no surf and i’m landlocked for a helluva long time, whichever comes first or never, i’ll get to it–promise!

What’s coming up though? A friend’s treating me to Le Bistro Vert (did I even write/spell that right?) this week. The chef’s going to cook for us I hope, something like a chef’s table. And the chef’s Sau Del Rosario. Are you excited? I am!

Properly Speaking

Here we are again, blogging about food for the nth time. I vow to make this blog at least updated once a week. I am a foodie, and foodies rule, and I can write, therefore, we blog.

Things that have been up:

–> QTV Tara Let’s Sweet Bazaar: My Company, the Manila Toffee Co. sponsored a booth and made some happy moolah. It was my first bazaar, and I think it went pretty well with people loving the chocolates and the toffees. 🙂

–>Re-loved WINE again with Iya and the gang as we hit Barcino for playboy’s Wine and Cheese Party. It was good, it was awesome. We had a red wine that was a little young, ideal with my chicken livers, and it was free! So oodles of Thanks to Playboy and to Barcino!

THINGS THAT WILL BE HAPPENING:

–> PAMPANGA FOOD TRIP : Pampanga foodtrip with the froogies (which is an online yahoogroups that i’ve been a part of forever) and it’s exciting because I have never been in one. So there. All new exciting stuff.

So that’s what’s been up culinary wise in my life. What’s in store?

Here’s a hint, I’m thinking of putting up a cake shop. Eeep! I know!
